Transforming Smiles with All-on-4 Dental Implants: A Lasting Solution
The term “implants” is in our name. And we genuinely prioritize complete services to replace missing or failing teeth with these modern restorations. As specialists, Associates for Oral, Maxillofacial & Implant Surgery also has the expertise and capabilities to support your ultimate satisfaction with crowns, bridges, and dentures stabilized in the mouth via dental implants. All-on-four (or All-on-4) systems are a particularly transformative option available at our offices in Mount Prospect, Bartlett, Elk Grove Village, and Chicago, Illinois.
What is the All-on-four system?
This procedure is specifically designed for people who have lost most or all of their teeth. In the past, these individuals’ options for tooth replacement would have been limited to a conventional upper or lower denture. Today, we can “fix” implants in the jawbone to hold the denture in place like a natural tooth root. The “four” in this approach’s name refers to how we don’t have to place one implant to retain every artificial tooth. Instead, a few as four implants may be strategically positioned in the jawbone to hold or “root” the denture in place. These dentures are also a highly stable and attractive option for many of our patients who need to replace their old, worn, or ill-fitting conventional removable dentures.
How do you “make” All-on-4 dentures?
At our practice, Drs Russell Spinazze, Mark Spinazze, and Eliza Drobny complement their advanced knowledge with state-of-the-art technologies. They use a high-resolution, 3-dimensional CT scan and virtual planning software to ensure the final denture is precisely designed and fabricated. Our unique multi-disciplinary approach also involves partnering with your general dentist and the lab technician as a team. This collaborative approach ensures the best possible cosmetic and functional results and, ultimately, your sustained satisfaction and happiness with your new teeth!
What makes All-on-4 dentures so unique?
Due to our advanced technologies, you can get a complete set of teeth in no time. Provisional dentures may even be placed during the same appointment as your surgery. There are also generally fewer visits associated with our process, greatly reducing the hassle and expense of treatment. You will likely be able to return to work and your typical activities in three to five days and with little discomfort. The long-term benefits, of course, stem from the precision fit of these appliances. Since they are “rooted” in the jaw, the denture is not going anywhere! They “stay put.” Plus, the precision fit that supports optimal comfort and chewing and speech function can be maintained for life. Unlike traditional dentures, All-on-4 implant dentures keep the bone in the jaw strong, allowing your appliance to continue to conform (and perform) well for years, even decades.
Am I a good candidate for All-on-4 treatment?
Due to the unique design of this system, many patients who might otherwise not be good candidates for implants can now benefit. That’s because All-on-4 uses available bone. So, it is an appropriate solution for patients with bone loss. It is also well-suited to those patients who do not want to undergo or are not good candidates for grafting procedures to build up lost bone. We will not know the best pathway forward until an evaluation is scheduled at one of our four Chicagoland offices.
