Oral Surgery Consultation in Mt. Prospect, Elk Grove Village, Bartlett & Chicago, IL

Your first visit to our office is designed to give you a clear understanding of your diagnosis and the treatment options available to you. During this consultation, we will review your needs, answer your questions and discuss the recommended next steps. In certain situations, treatment may be completed on the same day as your consultation. If your medical history is more involved or your surgical needs require additional planning, your procedure may be scheduled for a separate appointment.

Your First Visit

To help us prepare for your visit, please complete your registration forms before your appointment and bring the following with you:

• Your referral slip and any relevant X-rays, if applicable
• A current list of all medications you are taking
• Your dental and medical insurance information

Important: Patients younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the consultation.

Preparing For Anesthesia

If you are expecting to receive IV anesthesia, do not eat or drink anything for 6 hours before your surgical appointment. You must also arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home afterward.

Please notify our office before your visit if you have any medical condition that may affect surgery, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves, prosthetic joint replacements or a history of rheumatic fever. It is also important to let us know if you take any medications, including heart medications, aspirin or blood thinners.

X-Rays

If your dentist or physician has already taken X-rays, please ask their office to send them to us before your appointment. If there is not enough time for them to be forwarded, please pick them up and bring them with you on the day of your visit. If additional imaging is needed, it can be completed in our office.
